2023 Chaplain - Pastor Judith VanOsdol

Pastor VanOsdol serves First Trinity & St Matthew Lutheran churches, in Washington, DC. Pastor VanOsdol previously served as Program Executive for Gender Justice and Women’s Empowerment at the Lutheran World Federation, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. She has also served on staff in the Rocky Mountain and Upstate NY Synods. Pastor VanOsdol has a passion for God’s mission that includes equipping the saints for creating community and promoting healthy and vibrant congregations. Pastor VanOsdol will be leading all our worship services.

2023 Faculty - Dr. Robert Lebel

Class: The Intersections of Science, Ethics and Christian Faith

Dr. Robert Lebel is a member of King of Kings Lutheran in Liverpool and a bio geneticist at Syracuse University Medical School. He was a member of the task force that developed the ELCA Social Statement on Genetics. Holding degrees in the sciences and theology, he was ordained in 1975. Dr Lebel has published a book on ethical issues in genetics, but his greatest credential is the blessing of a loving marriage and the wonders of children and grandchildren.

2023 Faculty - Pastor Amy Reumann

Class: Bible study: Church, State, Civic Life and Faith

Pastor Reumann serves as ELCA Senior Director for Witness in Society in Washington, D.C. Her leadership directs staff and church advocacy in federal public policy, through the ELCA-affiliated state public policy office (sppo) network,at the UN through the Lutheran Office for World Community. She served as synod staff in Milwaukee, Wis. Presently, she serves on the board of Bread for the World.  Personally, Pr Reumann is a Master Gardener and loves to garden, quilt, hike and read mysteries.

2023 Youth Leader - Hayley Moe

Originally from North Dakota, Hayley grew up attending Lutheran camps across South Dakota. Being a camper, counselor, and camp chaplain have all played large roles in her calling to be a pastor. She received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Some of her favorite outdoor activities include hiking, canoeing, and eating a snack with a view. While she cannot remember any jokes to tell to save her life, she can whip out a group game and a song in a heartbeat. Hayley loves running, laughing, reading, dancing, drinking Diet Coke, and meeting dogs in Central Park.
