2024 Chaplain - ​Pastor Kristin Wuerffel
Our 2024 chaplain is Pastor Kristin Wuerffel. Pastor Wuerffel has made her way from the West to the East Coast, spending her childhood in Oregon and Minnesota, then Chicago, and now in New York. She graduated from Valparaiso University. She served for a year in St. Petersburg, Russia in global mission. A graduate of Yale Divinity School, and serves Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains. When she can, she likes to be outdoors with her husband and their two kids, hiking or being at the Hudson River. We're excited for you to meet this inspiring pastor.
2024 Faculty - ​Pastor Elsa Marty
Elsa Marty serves as associate pastor at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rocky Point, NY. Pastor Elsa will be presenting classes on how culture and context affect religious faith. Her area of expertise in India, on which her PhD research was focused. Christianity and Hinduism in India –– how culture impacts faith. Christianity has different shapes and traditions around the world. Pastor Elsa has long enjoyed outdoor ministry and we're excited to introduce her to you. She is attending with her husband and two boys, ages 4 and 1 and is looking forward to meeting you.
2024 Faculty - ​Pastor Eric Madsen
Eric Madsen serves as pastor of Trinity Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rochester, NY. Pastor Eric's classes will focus on Paul the Apostle. Learning about Paul's own background opens up his New Testament letters to us in new and exciting ways. Join us as we learn more about this apostle and see how that understanding can strengthen our discipleship. We'll be studying the books of Philippians and Romans. Pastor Eric will be attending with his wife Janice and their new baby. Eric enjoys reading, cooking, and kayaking in his spare time.
